No, 3102 is the base model..no superheater,just the simple, easy to live with saturated one.
Mike has asked me to remember some of my association with 3102..which was actually our first purchase .The Garratt was owned by the Federal government; 3102 came up for sale because the arrangenments made by others to conserve her fell through.The ARHS ACT did some quick and effective fund raising to get $5000 [a lot of money in the 1970's]and the rest is history.
As I remember..the group had a long and emotional discussion about colour, but this photo shows just how special we made her. And the legend of Captain Brasso live on. Kerry is a regular 3016 driver now, but way back then that brass dome cover was his speciality.
Vince..so far as I am concerned, we are already in the early feasibility stage.
We know roughly what is needed, are investigating wheels/tyres; tender and especially firebox condition. WE anticipate a new front tubeplate and new tubes.
Does not sound like much, but there are $$$$ involved.

So Peter is the project likely to start soon?

I'm sure this has come up before, but why not try for a government or heritage Grant?
If other small groups can get funding, surely some money could flow into this, 6029 and the ACT ARHS in general?
